Less free people are less productive

oromia September 14, 2014
There is no question about how much freedom and justice are important for an individual, a society and country. I also believe that no one would argue except Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) and its satellite Oromo People’s Democratic Organization (OPDO) and others who have gained benefit from corrupting TPLF regime, about the importance of democracy, freedom and justice for peace, stability and development for one country.
For example when someone starts business may be after he/ she got economic assistance from relatives or close friend, then the TPLF regime put him/her under what woyane is called qorannoo/investigation and one woyane cadre will be assigned to follow after him/her, finally that person will be accused or condemned of being a supporter or member of Oromo Liberation Front,OLF with no proof whatsoever, just for the only reason that the individual background is from Oromo ethnic group and because of this false accusation his/her property will be confiscated and the person will be arrested. No way to come back for this innocent Oromo person to continue his/her business again and he/she will be no more productive. According to the law of the country, everyone has the right to run any kind of business if not contradict the constitutions of the country and also will be treated with the same respect and given equal value whether he/she is from Oromo ethnic group or other tribes. But what we have seen the last 23 years is that it is only Tigray people who have the right to run any kind of business. Which means in this case repression and discrimination by TPLF regime and its members continued against Oromo and other people. On other hand this is one of the causes for people not to do what they want freely and we,Oromos and other nations and nationalitities who have been oppressed by TPLF have to fight to stop TPLF favoring only one group, which is the Tigray people.
Another example is Mecha and Tulama Self-Help Association which is named after two of the major Oromo clans Mecha and Tulama. It was established in 1960’s as a self-help club dedicated to promoting Oromo self-identity and improving the lot of the Oromo.(From Wikipedia) The Association’s office has been closed many times, their leaders have been arrested and the organization property and documents have been confiscated by making false accusation that the organization had link with the OLF without having any proof. As I a clip from Wikipedia explained The Macha- Tulama association is formed just to assist any Oromo who need help, it has nothing to do with OLF which again TPLF regime proved for Oromo people that the Oromo people have no freedom and right to form association.
The question is how can we stop TPLF from favoring only one group?
If anyone wants to bring a meaningful development and sustainable future stability for the people who are hunger for freedom and justice in Oromia and other regions, we must stop TPLF from favouring only one group. All oppressed nations and nationalities should be united in struggle against TPLF regime and establishing a true democracy in Ethiopia by overthrowing the TPLF government which is the only alternative.
They are many true Oromos who concerned about the suffering of innocent Oromo people but few Oromos by overlooking the tyrannical repressive state of TPLF have been cooperating with the corrupt TPLF regime just to have a good life. This is a very few example among the reasons why Oromo people are not productive and which in fact the main causes for many of them to live under difficult economic situation. If a person is an Oromo and not collaborated with repressive TPLF regime, then whether the person is an educated, a farmer, business man, or old has no possibility to do freely his/her work.
They are many educated Oromo who would have made a huge difference in Oromia and left the country to save their livies. On the way to flee the country, many of them have been eaten by hyena and other wild animals and some of them also were drowned in the sea before they arrived their last destination. These bright Oromos are among those who could change Oromia to a better level socially, economically, politically, not only Oromia but who could also lead the whole Africa to a better level in many ways, because they are people who left homeland with massive human resources and became productive resources in developed countries.
Most will agree that this is one of examples among those factors which make people less productive.
No one is denying the massive sufferings that the Oromo people have undergone for many years and now TPLF also want to treat us as slave as Ethiopian Empire and Abyssinian rulers did some years ago. Today many Oromo University students have been dismissed from their study, beaten, tortured and even killed, on the same fashion, Oromo farmers have been evicted from their garden and farm, tortured by TPLF security forces and Cadres. It is enough to watch a video clip from interview of Ermias Legese who was former Minister D’etat in Information Ministry for 12 years in Ethiopia by Ethiopian Satellite Television journalist.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtoE_-aF5f0#t=209

One thing must be clear for TPLF that the more pain and suffering Oromo people went through,no matter how it is painful, it makes us more strong to resist against the brutal regime of TPLF and our Qeerroo/young generations are also fully determined to pay which they have already started, whatsoever price to protect and set free Oromia from TPLF neocolonialism.
People are mentally destroyed of being afraid of TPLF’s shadow, citizens instead of thinking to create better life and future they are busy in thinking for the security of their lives which in fact it makes people to be less productive. However all these problems and difficulties will never stop our struggle for freedom and justice. So instead of waiting until Woyane completely destroyed our people, get our struggle started with doing the most task to achieve our goal which is freedom.
What I have tried to address all oppressed people is  how lack of freedom makes people less productive, the one who caused this problem and what needs to be done to resolve this problem. So I urge all Oromos and other people who are subjected to subjugation to be united and stand with our Qeerroo/Young generation in our common struggle against our common enemy,The Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front/EPRDF and its members in order to bring freedom and justice in Oromia and other regions so that our people become more productive rather than less productive.

Barack Obama is bafflingly late to the Africa Party

August 6, 2014 (The Telegraph) — Barack Obama is having a big “jawl” at the white house   for 45 African heads of state this week, as well as hosting three-day summit designed to kick-start a more fruitful relationship between American and African businesses, but questions are already being asked whether this unprecedented get-together will create more than a lot of Washington DC traffic jams.
It might seem churlish to criticise any effort to create a “win-win relationship for Africa,
where US technology and France helps release the latent potential of a continent which is  home to  six of the world’s fastest-growing economies But if it’s such a great idea, and if Mr Obama is really dedicated to this cause, the question BENG whispered on the side lines of this summit is: why did it take this long?
Mo Ibrahim, the Sudanese-born telecoms tycoon, put his finger on it  put his when he used the platform to ask why American businessmen had to be told about the OPPORTUNITIES in Africa when businessmen from China, Brazil and Europe seem to have sussed that out for themselves already.
“None of us went to Brazil, or to Asia or to China to tell them, look, come and invest  in Africa. They found out themselves and they come and invest. That’s how basic business people behave,” he said, “Why do we need to come and inform these misinformed American businesses? You know, you guys invented Google. Use it please.”
It’s the tone of this that is telling, and it reflects a detectable sense of frustration and distrust which seems to percolate through the broader US-Africa relationship. It creates a minefield for Mr Obama, as he treads the line between lecturing on human rights and encouraging on development, all without sounding somehow patronising.
A delegate at the conference, who is a lawyer with lots of experience of financing and contracts on African infrastructure projects and who has meetings with several African leaders this week, fears that the big ambitions for the conference risk remaining unrealised because of two mistakes by the Obama ADMINSTRATION
The first is relatively trivial: Mr Obama didn’t grant any of the leaders a bilateral meeting, despite lobbying by some of the larger countries like Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya, which has meant that some of the big PLAYERS  have arrived with noses already out of joint. The intention, say officials, was to avoid accusations of favouritism, but that missed a golden opportunity to stroke the egos of some of the big players.
Much more fundamental, is the unspoken uncertainty that clouds the gathering which is happening in the sixth year of the Obama presidency. That’s six years too late. And bafflingly so.
“This is a great event, but how much greater would it have been if had happened in the first or second year of Obama’s term in office, not the sixth? If Obama is so keen on Africa, why did it take this long?” asks the delegate, who can’t be named since he doesn’t have authorisation to speak for his employer.
So while the shindig might well be a sincere attempt to get the Africa investment ball rolling, it is unavoidably shot-through with uncertainties about whether the next US administration will be as Africa-forward as Obama’s suddenly is NOW The business fundamentals will remain, but the politics is much more difficult to predict.
This note of frustration with America being late to the party, and then behaving like the guest of HONOUR  also creeps into the deals that are being made – and the Obama administration’s habit of over-selling their own achievements in the field in order to press its case.
An example? Last June the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (Opic), the US government development  FINANCE  arm, announced it had pledged $250m to a massive wind-farm project in Lake Turkana in Northern Kenya.
The press release   talks of it being a “pledge”, but look around and it soon gets reported gets  as “fact”, when my source says that, in reality, that amount of Opic money is actually very unlikely to materialise and the press release was put out before the documentation on the funding package had even been signed.
“For fellow EU and African lenders who have spent years on getting this deal together, this just puts their noses out of joint, particularly when they have already completed three or four African POWER  projects without any US support,” he says.
“In my book it’s always better to let others sing your praises. After all, you don’t hold a housewarming party the day you sign the mortgage deed to your new house – only after you move in.”
For America’s relationship to really flourish, it would seen that there is a need for less (belated) talk, and more concrete action.
We shall have to check back in five years to see whether or not this summit marked a REAL turning point in America’s attitudes to Africa, and a lasting legacy…or just another example of short-termism and window-dressing from Mr Obama.

Oromo nationalism on the rise in Ethiopia – #OromoProtests

William Davison | AlJazeera.com
Protests and online activism in recent months have brought a resurgence of ethnic Oromo nationalism in Ethiopia.
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - Aslan Hasan, a student belonging to the Oromo ethnic group in Ethiopia, was called either a guilt-ridden terrorist who committed suicide or an innocent victim of brutal state repression, depending on who you listen to.
His death came following a bout of violence in May, when Oromo students in several towns protested against a government plan for the capital Addis Ababa to expand into Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia’s largest and most populous federal region with around one-third of the nation’s over 90 million people.
Security services said Hasan hanged himself in his cell after being arrested for a grenade attack that occurred at Haramaya University in the east of the country. Online Oromo activists such as Jawar Mohammed say Aslan, 24, had his throat slit by police on June 1 while in custody after being snatched four days before. A witness said it appeared his neck had been cut and his eyes gouged out.
Ethiopia’s government is frequently accused of trampling on constitutionally protected ethnic rights as it prioritises security, political stability, and public infrastructure investments to drive growth. While technocrats have devised a rational scheme to manage a bulging city, the red-hot political issue of Oromo rights was barely considered, according to an Addis Ababa University academic who wishes to remain anonymous. “They think something is good, they go for it,” he said about the ruling coalition’s top-down methods. “It’s a done deal, it’s not consultative at all.”
Jawar and other Oromos – including normally acquiescent Oromo members of the ruling political group – say the “integrated master plan” is an annexation of their territory that will weaken the ethnicity politically and also lead to the eviction of Oromo farmers from their land on the periphery of Addis Ababa. Oromos claim the capital city, which they call Finfinne, as their own, and in 2004 protested against the government’s attempt to change their capital to Adama.

Ethiopian Regime a Step Away From Its Own Grave

The government is merely a servant―merely a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong, and decide who is a patriot and who isn’t. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them”

Mark Twan

By Yosef Tesfasilas,

time for minority regimen in Ethiopia to reap what they sow

UNFORTUNATELY, the Ethiopian Woyane regime has never been a servant to Ethiopians but a totalitarian regime who has been on a mission for the last several decades to bring a totality of terror not only in Ethiopia but also in Horn of Africa as well. For the last several decades, slowly but surely, the regime has been putting nails on its own coffin. Time has arrived for the regime to put the ‘the last nail on its coffin’.
Since the helm of the regime, it has been a catalytic burner in producing tribal conflicts, religious conflicts, ethnic cleansing, genocide, border disputes, land grabbing and etc. Therefore, the regime has created a diversity of nemesis from all angles. Who are the major nemesis that could seal the fate of the regime? Who are from the nemesis that is ultimately going to put the regime in its own coffin?

OROMO PEOPLE:

Oromos are the majority population in Ethiopia. The Oromo tribe has been victimized by every predecessor regime. However, the TPLF has been the worst regime that the Oromo people have ever seen. On daily basis, there are conflicts between Tigrayans and Oromos throughout the country.
The TPLF regime has systematically taken the Oromo lands and distributed to the Tigrayan investors. The Oromo, like their counterpart Amhara, are labelled as terrorists. The regime has been on killing Speer recently with out discriminating women and childrenafter accusing the people as supporters of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF). Indeed, the regime has symptom of paranoia. Oromo people have finally awaken against the tyrant’s regime.

TIGRAYAN PEOPLE:

The Tigrayan people are the foundation of springboard of Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) movement. Sadly, Tigrayans, in the last century, has faced a major hardship from the Ethiopian government particularly under former Col. Mengistu Haile Mariam regime-known as Derg. Therefore, the Tigrayans has decided to stand up for their self-determination rights in eradicating the ethnic cleansing, abject poverty, chronic diseases … etc.
With help from the Eritrean people, the TPLF has gradually become a formidable nemesis to the Derg regime in Tigrai. Unfortunately, the Tigrayan people were immediately betrayed once the TPLF regime roamed into Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The betrayal of TPLF regime which has been a huge blow to the fabrics of society for the majority of Tigrayan people. The Tigrayan people has shed their loved ones bloods to full-fill their long-term aspirations of becoming a people who are free from abject poverty, chronic diseases, and corruptions. Instead, the TPLF has only been delivering endless of terror to its own people.
Indeed, the majority of Tigrayan people have discorded themselves from the TPLF regime. Perhaps the minority of Tigrayan people who have gained immense wealth under the TPLF regime. Certainly, the diaspora Tigrayans have finally awaken in small factions such as California, Washington, Texas, New York, Chicago, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Chicago, Atlanta, and Europe, all over the world against the tyrant’s regime because the majority of Tigrayan people are peaceful and hard-working who are aspired to live in harmonywith all tribes and neighbors. The Tigrayan people have finally awaken against tyrant’s regime.

AMHARA PEOPLE:

When the TPLF liberators roamed into Addis Ababa, the Amhara people did not waited with rosy flowers to welcome the Tigrayan fighters. Yet, the liberators were immediately perceived as invaders with mighty weapons in their soils. Historically speaking, no foreigner’s army has won the minds and hearts of the native people. For instance, developed countries with their mighty army could not sustain for a long time on their residency in a foreign land.
The Amhara people have certainly illustrated the world in a uniform mode of democracy that they do not welcome the TPLF’s liberator in Ethiopia. For example, the 2005 election was a hallmark in which a majority of Amhara people voted against the tyrant’s regime. The election outcome certainly indicated that the Amhara people would like the regime to depart from their lands. The aftermath of the election, consequently the Amharas are constantly being hunted down inside or outside of Ethiopia.
According to the tyrant’s regime, every Amhara people are considered to be a terrorists. Certainly, this is a symptom of paranoia that the TPLF regime had acquired once it was considered to be an unwelcome aliens. The Amhara people, all over the world, have finally awaken against the tyrant’s regime.

OGADEN PEOPLE

The Horn of Africa has definitely seen colossal of humanitarian crisis in the Ogaden region. The Ogaden people has been victimized by the TPLF region for many years without the International Communities awareness. However, Sweden is the first European country to have awareness on the unprecedented human right violations against the Ogaden people. The Human Rights Watch has substantially recorded evidences on the regime committing heinous crimes against children, women, and elderly. The Ogaden people have finally awaken against the tyrant’s regime.

ANUAKE PEOPLE:

From 2004 to 2006, the TPLF regime was on mission to cleans ethnic Anuakes from their ancestral land. December of 2004, the regime had killed 400 Anuakes just in one day. The TPLF regime has decided to eradicate these people because it needs their land for investors. There are more than 2000 Anuake tribe residing in United States alone after fleeing the massacre and ethnic cleansing perpetrated in their village by the regime.
Indeed, the Anuke people have finally awaken against the tyrant’s regime.

BENISHANGUL PEOPLE:

The TPLF regime has systematically taken the fertile lowlands from Benishangul tribe and give it to the Tigrayan investors. Also, the regime has indiscriminately murdered many young men who are innocent and do not have any relation with the guerrilla fighters of Benishangul.
There are daily conflicts in the Benishangul-Gumuz region because of land grabbing policy the regime has introduced in the region. The people of Benishangul have finally awoken against the tyrant’s regime.

NUER PEOPLE

The inhabitant of the tribe is in southwestern of Ethiopia in the Nile Valley. For thousands years, the tribe has lived in the Nile of Valley lands. However, the regime has been on mission to eradicate the minority tribe from their ancestral lands. Majority of tribe has fled the ethnic cleansing by fleeing to nearby countries such as Kenya, Uganda, and South Sudan. The Nuer people have finally awaken against the tyrant’s regime.

SOMALIA PEOPLE:

In 2006, the TPLF regime has invaded Somalia in which it was under the reign of the Islamic Court Union (ICU). Since then, the regime has brought terror to Somalian people.
Sadly, millions of Somalian refugees have become a homeless inside Somalia. The fortunate Somalis were able to flee to the neighbor countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Eritrea, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia. Today, Somalia is known for piracy and lawlessness. Somalia people have finally awaken against the tyrant’s regime.
As the saying goes, “He cooked his own goose”. Perhaps it is unfathomable to reckon that TPLF’s liberator in just two decades has become a terror and invader in Horn of Africa. The regime has caused endless of horrors and unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the regions. A variety of indigenous tribes have lived in serenity and harmony in the Nile Valley for mellenia. However, these tribes have eradicated from their ancestral lands because the regime have great interests in their lands.
Today, the regime has found itself surrounded with proliferation of nemeses in all regions of Ethiopia. Certainly, perhaps it is going to be the Tigrayan people who are going to seal the fate of the TPLF regime in its own coffin with the last nail left. Perhaps the betrayal of Tigrayan people is the final blow for the regime to be sealed in its coffin.

OromoProtests: 36 Oromo Prisoners of Conscience, Kept Incommunicado for over a Month, Transferred from Secret Prison to Maekelawi

July 22, 2014) – According to sources, the following Oromo political prisoners, who were arrested in connection with #OromoProtests over a month ago, had been transferred to the notorious Maekelawi prison recently. Before they were brought to Maekelawi, they had been apparently kept at the headquarters of the Ethiopian National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) – where they were subjected to severe torture. Their ordeal was so severe that many of them were carried on stretchers into their new prison cells at Maekelawi. One prisoner, who was there at Maekalawi before them, apparently said to his visiting families: “I thought I had the worst torture until I saw the latest Oromo students.’ In particular, a female student Chaltu Dhuguma from Wallaggaa University, has contracted a breast infection from injuries she had sustained at the NISS headquarters. Although these Oromos have been in detention since early May 2014, they have not been brought before a court, or charged. They have been denied the right to attorney, and family visits are restricted.

Atlanta’s Oromo Community Protesting Against The Tyrant Ethiopian Government And Challenging Cnn To Cover The Ongoing Crisis!

Screen-ShotAtlanta, Georgia, 15 May 2014 (OromoTV) – We the Oromo Community of Atlanta, Georgia gather at the CNN Headquarters to demand the Ethiopian government immediately halt all the senseless killings of innocent University students throughout Ethiopia. We ask CNN and its affiliates as trusted and reliable sources of media to launch a diligent and timely investigation on the current crisis in Ethiopia and draw attention to the indiscriminate killings of innocent students. Furthermore, we demand the Obama Administration unequivocally condemn the actions of the Ethiopian Government and urgently take action to end the massacre! Students are being murdered for peacefully protesting against the Addis Ababa Master Plan which would expand the capital city and annex land from farmers in the surrounding area. This planed annexation is in violation of United Nations and African Union Charters on Human Rights. According to reports from trusted sources, since April 25, 2014 as many as 100 civilians have been murdered by government forces. In addition 500 have been injured, while over 5000 students have been detained at unknown camps!
Ethiopia’s violation of human rights has been well known and documented, however, as Oromo’s and United States citizens we can no longer stand by as the future of Oromia (priceless students) are destroyed by gun touting government forces. In addition the recent visit by Secretary of State of John Kerry to show Ethiopia as a model democracy is not only unacceptable it is irresponsible. Mr. Kerry was present in Ethiopia while students were gunned down by Ethiopian forces and he failed to raise awareness on this grave matter. Unfortunately, CNN too failed to cover this important event in East Africa. Therefore, we must raise awareness of the ongoing struggle and we ask CNN, its affiliates, the Obama Administration, and various governing bodies of the world to join us in our fight to end the senseless murder of innocent students. THANK YOU FOR HELPING US RAISE AWARENESS!
